Solstice Animation
Spring 2025
I developed a premise for a sci-fi/mystery television series to create an animated title sequence. The story Solstice revolves around an idealistic astronaut getting stuck in space and what he discovers, ultimately finding comfort and a home in the unknown.
Alongside the title sequence, I developed the brand identity for Solstice, created marketing materials, branded merchandise and a social media page to help promote this series.

Perseus (Perry), an idealistic astronomer, longs to discover something new. When he receives the opportunity for a solo expedition into space, he can’t pass it up despite the concerns from his childhood friend Isaac. Things go awry when Perry is forced to abandon his rocket ship, leaving him stranded in the middle of space with limited oxygen. Not all hope is lost, as he finds a haven in a mysterious planet. Isaac meanwhile is working hard to rescue his friend, however sometimes friends move on from each other…

Color & Typography
I wanted the title sequence animation to represent the main character’s ascension from earth to space. The use of abstract shapes and gradients were used to represent the initial chaos and anxiety from being lost in space. I planned to have the visuals constantly flowing and moving, like an uncontrollable force, and paired with small typography to give a sense of the size of humanity compared to space.

Marketing Materials
Treating Solstice like an actual upcoming television series, I created marketing materials for an omni-channel project. I used the title sequence animation as a style guide. Transitioning to designing static imagery from creating constant movement in my animation was challenging but effective in showcasing the overall theme and mood of the series.
